Most Exciting Thrillers I Want To Read
A peek into my TBR list
Hey, it’s Diego.
This week, I was away enjoying the last days of summer by the beach, which meant I didn’t get to do much reading.
So I thought I would share the top thrillers I’m most excited to read next from my TBR list.
Let’s go.

Most Exciting Thrillers I Want To Read
The Guest List by Lucy Foley
I’m currently halfway through The Guest List by Lucy Foley. I’ll do a proper review next week, but so far it’s been an interesting read. The premise is good enough: a bunch of people with shared pasts attend a wedding on a remote island off the coast of Ireland. They get cut off when a storm hits the island, and then a body is found. It’s not really a whodunnit because there is no “inspector” character, so it leans more into the day of the wedding and the day before,e and each character’s state of mind leading up to the death.
Lie Lie Truth by James Caine
Lie Lie Truth by James Caine calls to me for two reasons; the premise is that the protagonist believed their father to be a serial killer when he was named the prime suspect. Only to be shocked when he may actually not be. And two: it’s a shorter book. At 270 pages, it should be a quick read, which is something I look for when I’m reading longer material to take a break between reads.
Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah
I had a nightmare the other day where I was at work and suddenly “remembered” I had left my two kids in the car. It was so eerie to see a book with a similar premise a couple of days later. In Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah, the aunt of a boy forgets to drop him at nursery and leaves him in the car, with horrific consequences. I’m torn because this is literally a nightmare of mine, but it’s such a juicy premise, I may have to read this one next.
The Only One Left by Riley Sager
I must confess that the main thing that drew me into The Only One Left by Riley Sager was the striking cover. The premise doesn’t disappoint, though: a young caregiver is assigned to work for a woman who was accused but never proven of massacring her entire family 50 years earlier.
This Week’s Finds
I Become Her by Joe Hart is generating buzz this week. The novel follows newlywed Imogene, who shifts from paranoia to obsession after her husband suffers short-term amnesia after a fall. A fall she caused when she accused him of cheating on her, 10 days into their marriage.
Trust, starring Sophie Turner, hit U.S. theaters on August 22. This psychological thriller follows an actress seeking refuge in a remote cabin after a scandal, only to confront betrayal and survival.
Netflix released the German erotic thriller Fall for Me worldwide on August 21, where two German sisters meet desire, danger, and dark twists against the backdrop of Mallorca.
That’s all for this week. See you next time.
