Best Thrillers of 2025

1. The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey

My favourite read of 2025 was The Quarry Girls by Jess Lourey. A girl goes missing, and another shows up dead after a group of female friends witness the sexual victimization of a teenage girl.

2. The Good Lie by A.R. Torre

The Good Lie by A.R. Torre is such a great experience. Dr. Gwen Moore, a psychiatrist specializing in violent tendencies, helps Robert Kavin, a defense attorney whose teenage son was one of a serial killer’s victims, defend the man accused of being the serial killer.

3. The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose

The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose still has my favourite premise of all time, and the book is pretty good, too. Sarah Morgan, a high-profile case attorney, wakes up one day to discover her husband, Adam, has been accused of murdering his mistress. She takes on the case because she still loves him, but can their relationship survive as Sarah discovers the lies her husband has been feeding her all this time? Adam is an adulterer, but is he guilty of murder?

4. All Her Fault by Andrea Mara

All Her Fault by Andrea Mara was an incredible read. When a woman goes to collect her five-year-old son from a playdate, she is stunned to find there was no playdate, and her son has vanished.

5. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides follows a therapist obsessed with uncovering the motive behind her patient’s violent murder of her husband. The writing somewhat detracted from a great story.

That’s all for this week. See you next time.
